What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is an altered state of mind. It is actually a heightened awareness of the here and now. A trance state is easily established in the normal course of a person’s life. In fact, most people move through their lives in some level of trance. Most people who drive experience missing their exits on the highways or not remembering the route they took to get to their destination. These people are said to have been in trance. Their actions and reactions are set on automatic.

You experience a hypnotic state every day, for example just before going to sleep or just as you wake up from a sleep, watching your favorite program on television or reading an interesting book, or when you are daydreaming and even miss hearing your name being called out.

Of course, we all do things like this on a daily basis. This is what it is like being hypnotized. When in hypnosis, you can hear everything going on around you, you can hear all of the suggestions you're being given.

Remember this...

If you don't hear anything, you are not hypnotized, you are sleeping! Under hypnosis you can be 88% more alert!

When in hypnosis, you can bring yourself out of hypnosis whenever you want to. People have asked, "What happens if the hypnotist/hypnotherapist walks away or something happens to him or her and I'm in hypnosis?" Don't worry....you will either gradually go deeper and then wake up or simply begin to rise out of the hypnotic state to a fully conscious state.

Hypnosis has many meanings even though they all stand for the same thing. When a person is in a relaxed state, the conscious mind can be bypassed and direct suggestions to the subconscious mind can be effected. That's basically it. That's all you need to understand in order to take in the idea of hypnotic state. The subconscious mind then accepts these suggestions and creates the behavior changes or body changes in order to achieve the given suggestions.

The subconscious mind acts the way it has been programmed to act, exactly as a computer does. Most of our programming occurs prior to the age of seven, long before we are old enough to differentiate between ideas that are helpful or harmful to our well being. Lasting personal change can happen only when we re-program early childhood patterns which no longer serve our best interest.

In conclusion…

your results are based on your beliefs. remember, the subconscious mind does not know the difference between fact and fantasy- so with each session imagine the suggestions as fact…take them as an absolute truth. And watch the transformation begin!
